We are pleased to share that our team participated in the 26th Polymer Networks Group Meeting 2026, held in Dresden, Germany, from June 21–25, 2026. Organized by the Polymer Networks Group and hosted by the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden, the conference brought together researchers from across the world working on polymer networks, gels, dynamic materials, and sustainable polymer systems. The meeting marks the 50-year anniversary of the Polymer Networks Group and featured a broad scientific program spanning synthesis, characterization, applications, and recycling of polymer networks.
As part of the scientific program, H. Beneš delivered an oral presentation entitled “D-Isosorbide and Furfural-Derived Monomers for Glassy Bio-Based Vinylogous Urethane Vitrimers” co-authored by H. Beneš, O. Kopilec, J. Hodan, and O. Sedláček.
The work was presented within the conference theme “Vitrimers, Sustainable Materials & Recycling”, one of the key focus areas of PNG 2026. The research highlights the development of novel bio-based vitrimer systems derived from renewable platform molecules such as D-isosorbide and furfural, contributing to the advancement of sustainable polymer materials with dynamic covalent adaptability.
Participation in PNG 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to discuss recent progress in dynamic polymer networks, exchange ideas with leading experts in the field, and establish new scientific connections within the international polymer community.
