Project BioCAN was presented at the Dynamic Polymer Networks Meeting (DPN-2025), which was an in-person event held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from August 11 to 14, 2025.
PhD student Ondrej Kopilec from Charles University presented a poster “Synthesis of biobased vitrimers from renewable D-isosorbide” co-authored with Ondrej Sedlacek from Charles University and Hynek Benes from the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Czech Academy of Sciences. These are the first results of the BioCAN project, where we share our progress on fully bio-based vitrimers.
We’re proud to share that the BioCAN project is among the few research teams actively working on bio-based vitrimers — an exciting and rapidly developing area of polymer science. By focusing on bio-based feedstocks, BioCAN is helping push the boundaries even further — toward greener, circular solutions that could reshape the future of plastics. It’s an exciting time for the field, and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront of this important research.
